Carolyn Gonzalez graduated with honors from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s in English, as well as with a cross-departmental Medieval Studies Certificate. She is currently a second year Master’s in English Literature student. Her research interests are focused in the middle ages, spanning early Nordic and Anglo-Saxon literature. As a Speech Communication 212 and Honors instructor, Carolyn enjoys working closely with students, fellow teaching assistants, and instructors, challenging and expanding her pedagogical repertoire. She is particularly invested in reaching out to first-generation students. Currently, Carolyn’s research focuses on the depiction of madness and outlawry in medieval texts, including the works of Geoffrey Chaucer and Thomas Malory.
