Bio
Katie Painter is a Graduate Teaching Assistant and MA student in literature at Iowa State University. She is also a 2023 recipient of the Freda Huncke Endowment Teaching Fellowship. Katie's current research interests include 19th-century American literature, as well as exploring the impacts of religion and gender roles upon texts of this period.
Prior to her time at ISU, she received a BA in English literature with a minor in French at Kansas State University (2023), graduating Magna Cum Laude.
In her free time, Katie enjoys traveling as much as possible, painting or taking up other assorted arts and crafts projects, and aspiring to become a sommelier.
